Q: What are some traditional ways to celebrate Purim?

A: Some traditional ways to celebrate Purim include reading the Book of Esther, giving gifts of food to friends and family, holding a festive meal or seudah, and giving charity to the poor. A: The Megillah should be read twice during Purim – once in the evening and once in the morning. The exact times may vary depending on your location and the specific event you are attending.

Q: Is Purim the Jewish Halloween?

A: No, Purim is not the Jewish version of Halloween. Although both holidays involve dressing up in costumes, the similarities end there. The custom to dress up on Purim has been around for hundreds of years, long before the modern holiday of Halloween took shape. Moreover, on Purim, the focus is on giving gifts to friends and helping those in need, rather than on trick-or-treating for candy or causing mischief.
